Research
Motivated to find better cures through a deeper understanding
of how cells work and how they become cancer.

Our main interest is to understand what makes a cancer cell. We use a variety of approaches to understand how specific oncogenic events contribute to cancer development and to use this knowledge to learn new things about normal biology and cancer biology.  We are motivated to help find better cures through a deeper understanding of how cells work and how they become cancer. Our preference is to study cancer in actual organisms (either mouse models or in patients) rather than relying exclusively on cell lines.

Our lab is located in the Rock Hall Building on the Mission Bay Campus of UCSF.
